Expert Tips
- The amount of sweetener used in the recipe may not be suitable for everyone's taste. Feel free to adjust the amount of simple syrup used to make the latte sweeter or less sweet.
- Adding whipped cream to the top of your latte is a great way to add an extra layer of creaminess and sweetness. You can also sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top of the whipped cream for a festive touch.
Variations
- Iced: Brew a shot of espresso and let it cool. Mix the spices, sweetener, and cold milk in a shaker with ice. Add the cooled espresso and shake until well combined for an iced gingerbread latte recipe.
- Spiced chai: Brew a chai tea bag in 1 cup of hot water. Mix the spices, sweetener, and milk in a small saucepan and heat until steaming. Add the brewed chai tea and stir well.
- Maple: Substitute the sweetener with maple syrup for a more natural and less sweet flavor. Mix the spices, maple syrup, and milk in a small saucepan and heat until steaming. Add the espresso and pour the mixture into a mug.
Storing & Freezing
Storing: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days and reheat it on the stovetop as needed.
Freezing: The best way to freeze coffee is in an ice cube tray, then use them as ice cubes in iced coffee!
